Update 8-31-13

I continue to play the lottery with some (little) success. Again, it is a game of chance, but you can increase your chances by some research. On scratch-offs - go to txlottery.org and look at the games that are out there. Newer games will give you a better chance of winning since not too many have played the newer games. Also, games with 2nd chances are good too. Non-winning tickets can be entered into a 2nd chance drawing giving you a chance to win some prizes.

Update 8-7-13

Hello all. I haven't posted in a while and wanted to share some thoughts on the lottery. I have been playing somewhat, but not much luck. One thing that I do, though, in the Texas Two Step Lottery, is play my same bonus numbers with quick picks for the 4 other numbers. I play a set of five, i.e., I pick my bonus numbers on 4 of the tickets with quickpicks for the remainder of the numbers. On the fifth ticket, I pick my numbers and play a quick pick on the bonus ball. One thing that I notice is when my bonus ball that I play on the Two Step comes out on other lottery games, i.e, Powerball and Mega Millions or vice versa. Example: I will play Two Step on Monday (that is when the drawing is) and my bonus number (3) comes out. Well, I will tend to play that bonus ball on either/both the Mega Millions (which comes out on Tuesdays and Fridays) and the Powerball (which comes out on Wednesdays and Saturdays).  I tend to look for a pattern, and it does happen at times. So, one of the i...

Update 1/3/13

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year.  Since this is a new year, I decided to update my blog. Haven't had much luck in the lottery or scratch offs lately, although I did recently win $50 in a scratch off. One thing I have decided to do to actually have money playing the lottery is this: I have decided that if I win $20 or more, I would cash it in and go directly to my bank and deposit it into my account. If you can successfully  make it a habit, your account can grow. Even though you may not win the big one, the smaller amounts won can add up and make you successful in playing the lottery. Since we all have New Year Resolutions, this is a good one to start and see how it goes. If you read this, I would like to hear from you and your winnings. And, if you have any inputs, please be sure to post them as well. Wishing everyone and Prosperous and Happy New Year and good luck playing the lottery.

Update 12/16/12

I recently received an email regarding scratchoffs. This person asked if I have ever noticed the numbers (at the bottom of the scratch off ticket) that had colored numbers - black, blue and red. This person says that if the third number (example - 12 3 ) is red, that it usually comes out a loser. I have never realized it has colors, but if it does, this is something to look for as well.

Scratch Off Lottery Tickets

In this blog, I will talk about scratch off tickets. Again, as I stated before in the previous blogs, it is pure luck. What I will discuss is some strategies you can use to improve your odds of winning. I generally play the $2, $3 and $5 tickets. Every once in a while I play the $7 tickets and very rarely the $10 tickets. I have won my fair share of money in scratch off tickets. I have won $200 twice in Break the Bank. I win alot of $2.00, $3.00, $5.00 $10.00 winnings. Occasionally I win $20.00 and $50.00 and sometimes $100.00. My strategy: Each scratch off ticket has the odds posted on the back of the ticket. Example of odds 1 in 4.45 (including break-even prizes). This is a starting point. Again, mostly luck, but I use this strategy and it has worked for me. Also, to increase the odds of winning, especially at the larger amounts, buy tickets that are new. Go to txlottery.org and look up scratch off tickets. They have the number of winning tickets still available. They will also...

Texas Two-Step and Cash Five

This is my 2nd blog on the lottery. In my first blog I wrote about the Powerball and Mega Millions lottery. In this blog I will write about the Texas Two-Step and Cash Five. Again, as stated in the first blog, winning the lottery is pure luck. There is no set way to win. What I am discussing in these blogs is how you can increase your chances of winning something (may not be the big one) but at least get something back. The Texas Two-Step consists of 4 numbers plus a bonus ball. Unlike the Powerball and Mega Millions, the Texas Two-Step does not have a multiplier, i.e., a powerplay or mega ball option for a $1.00 more. In the Texas Two-Step you choose a bonus number from 1-35 and four other numbers from 1-35. Pick the bonus ball: win $5.00 minimum Bonus Ball plus 1 number: $7.00 Bonus Ball plus 2 numbers $20.00* Three numbers: $20.00* Bonus Ball plus 3 numbers: $50.00* Four numbers: $1501* Bonus Ball plus four numbers: Jackpot (whatever the jackpot is at that drawing) *Me...

Increase your chances in the lottery

This is my first blog on how to increase your chances on winning money in the lottery. First of all, winning the lottery is pure luck. There is no scientific way that you can consistently win or win large amounts of money in the lottery - it is pure luck. That being stated - I am blogging on how you can increase your chances to win some money in the lottery. It is not necessarily meaning you will win big amounts of money, but just how you can win some money - maybe large amounts, mostly smaller amounts, but increase your chances on winning something. I will blog about the Texas Lottery: Powerball, Mega Millions, Texas Two-Step, Cash Five and scratchoff tickets. First, lets talk about lottery tickets - Powerball. Powerball tickets are $1.00. You can play the PowerPlay option for an additional $1.00 which will increase your non-grand jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times. First you pick 5 numbers from 1 to 59. Then you pick the Powerball number from 1-39. You can either pick your ...
